what we did…
Given the presence of skylights on the roof, it was essential to implement protective measures to safeguard the installation. The existing man-safe system was strategically relocated to accommodate the new PV panels, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards. This integration of safety protocols underscores the project’s focus on delivering secure and sustainable energy solutions.
The building’s metal trapezoidal roof provided an ideal surface for installing the 150 solar panels, maximising the available space and optimising energy capture. This installation is projected to generate significant financial and environmental benefits, saving TÜV SÜD an estimated £19,637 annually on energy bills and reducing carbon emissions by 11.4 tons per year. These outcomes highlight the project’s dual advantages: substantial cost savings and a meaningful contribution to environmental sustainability.
This project exemplifies a successful integration of renewable energy deployment and rigorous safety practices, showcasing TÜV SÜD’s leadership in sustainable energy solutions. The initiative not only demonstrates the feasibility of achieving energy self-sufficiency but also sets a benchmark for other organisations aiming to reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring operational safety and efficiency.
