LVS Ascot is an independent day and boarding school situated in Ascot, Berkshire. The school is set within 26 acres of scenic parkland, providing a spacious and inspiring environment for its students.
The campus features a range of high-quality facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, football pitch, and cricket field, supporting a well-rounded educational and extracurricular experience.
LVS Ascot partnered with EES Group in August 2023 to install solar PV systems across their school, significantly reducing their high energy bills while supporting their commitment to sustainability. The school actively promotes environmental responsibility among its pupils, making this project a natural extension of their ethos.
Recognising the potential for further savings and environmental impact, EES Group evaluated the school’s energy needs and proposed a comprehensive business case for additional systems. After presenting the findings to LVS Ascot’s board, the proposal was approved in late December 2023, paving the way for an expanded solar PV installation.
Through this collaboration, LVS Ascot is setting an example of environmental action while benefitting from reduced operational costs and long-term energy sustainability.

what we did…
Following a comprehensive review of LVS Ascot’s remaining 13 buildings, we identified 7 that would benefit the most from solar PV installation. Due to the slate roofing across the campus, our team conducted meticulous surveys to identify any pre-existing cracked tiles or weak points that could pose challenges during installation. One building was deemed unsuitable due to its poor condition, and we promptly informed LVS, enabling them to plan accordingly.
For the selected buildings, we installed a total of 223.98 kW of solar PV capacity, utilising SolarEdge products to seamlessly integrate with the school’s existing monitoring system. The design team carried out detailed on-site shading assessments to ensure optimal efficiency and maximise energy generation across all systems.
Given that LVS is both a day and boarding school, we carefully coordinated with their team to complete the installation during the summer break. To make the most of this window, scaffolding was erected before the end of the summer term, ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process within the tight timeframe.
Through this collaborative effort, LVS Ascot has taken another significant step toward reducing their energy costs and achieving their sustainability goals.
Due to the LVS site operating under a single MPAN, it was necessary to install multiple CT clips to effectively monitor the entire site. The electrical team devised a detailed plan and worked closely with the LVS site team to coordinate efforts. This collaboration ensured that the scheduled shutdown was executed with minimal disruption to operations.
