Following a successful competitive tender process, EES Group was appointed to implement a full LED lighting upgrade across the school campus during the summer holidays of 2023. To ensure an optimal design suited to the school’s diverse learning spaces, our team conducted a meticulous site survey, assessing the unique requirements of each building and room. This detailed analysis enabled us to implement a tailored solution that maximised energy efficiency while maintaining high-quality illumination.
The upgrade involved the installation of advanced low-energy LED luminaires, carefully selected to provide optimal lighting performance with minimal energy consumption. In certain areas, our team strategically retrofitted lighting to preserve the architectural integrity and aesthetics of the existing interiors. By executing the project within the summer break, we ensured that there was no disruption to teaching and daily school activities.
The impact of this project has been significant. In the first year alone, Preston Manor High School achieved energy savings of £78,612, demonstrating the substantial financial benefits of transitioning to LED lighting. The upgrade also contributed to the school’s long-term decarbonisation strategy, reducing its carbon footprint and supporting broader sustainability objectives. Additionally, the improved lighting quality has enhanced the overall learning environment, creating a brighter and more comfortable space for students and staff.
