what we did…

BNU identified the need to transition to more energy-efficient lighting solutions to further reduce its environmental impact. The university sought to upgrade the lighting systems across its campus to LED technology, aiming to improve energy efficiency while maintaining optimal lighting levels in various spaces, including lecture rooms, administration offices, and specialised workshops like the Red Shed, which houses fashion and design workshops.

BNU partnered with EESG, an experienced provider of sustainable energy solutions, to implement an LED lighting upgrade across four key buildings on campus. EESG’s proposal was chosen due to their expertise in delivering lighting solutions that meet specific lighting requirements for different types of spaces.

The project involved the installation of state-of-the-art LED lighting fixtures tailored to the unique needs of each area within the campus buildings. Special attention was given to ensuring appropriate lighting levels in workspaces like the Red Shed, where precise illumination is crucial for design and fashion-related activities.

Under the supervision of Steve Edge, the Sustainability Manager at BNU, the team from EESG executed the lighting upgrade project with precision and efficiency. The installation process involved replacing traditional lighting fixtures with energy-efficient LED alternatives across the designated buildings.

The project was completed seamlessly, with minimal disruption to campus activities. Throughout the implementation phase, close collaboration between BNU stakeholders and the EESG team ensured that the project met both sustainability goals and functional requirements.

The impressive results demonstrate the effectiveness of BNU’s investment in sustainable lighting technology. By reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, the university is not only contributing to its NetZero objectives but also achieving substantial financial savings over the long term.
