Renewables Project Manager – Job Description

About Us:

The Energy Efficient Solutions Group was born out of extensive experience gained in the lighting industry, actively promoting the energy saving benefits of LED lighting through our organisation Energy Saving Lighting. From this background, the Group has evolved to help further support our clients with their drive towards decarbonisation and Net Zero, providing a wide range of solutions including LED Lighting, Solar PV, Heating solutions, Electric Vehicle Charging and Air Purification.

The Role:

The role reports to the Head of Project Management. As a Renewable Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate the planning, development, and execution of renewable energy projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Your role will involve project assessment, risk management, stakeholder communication, and the successful delivery of renewable energy initiatives.

Key Activities:

  • Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
  • Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Identify and manage project risks.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Allocate and manage resources effectively to meet project milestones.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, senior management team, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates.
  • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
  • Resolve any issues or obstacles that may arise during project execution.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s).
  • Competent in required project methodology.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored.
  • Submits project status reports to stakeholders working to the agreed timelines.

Required Skills:

  • Detailed and in-depth understanding of renewable technology, demonstrable skill in operational challenges on the renewable sector.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced project environment, with excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and manage workloads to set deadlines.
  • A collaborative, engaging and supportive approach.
  • The ability to adapt, set and change course in a dynamic environment.
  • Boldness with the ability to speak from experience with conviction to instill sense of clarity and drive throughout the team.
  • Open to hybrid working your time will be spent between Office (Bracknell UK), Project Site’s and Home.
  • Excellent IT skills particularly MS Office, but also a range of software tools.
  • Commercial Installation experience.
  • Key role in the delivery of world class installations with market leading technology.
  • Confident face to face with end clients, sub-contractors, colleagues and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and the renewable energy market.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
