JUST RELEASED: New Government funding for Schools
It’s important that schools and colleges are energy efficient so they can provide the best possible learning environments for young people, minimise operating costs and reduce carbon emissions.
That’s why the government are investing £500 million to help state schools and colleges with energy efficiency upgrades, helping to manage energy consumption and save on bills.
This funding comes on top of £1.8 billion of capital funding already committed this year for improving the condition of school buildings, and the extra £2 billion revenue funding going into the schools budgets next year and the year after.
How will schools and colleges be able to use this money?
Making investments to improve energy efficiency will help schools and colleges manage their costs. For example, this money could be used to install LED lighting upgrades, Solar PV and heating & insulation.
